The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnapping of a four-year-old boy in Ngballang community, Numan Local Government Area.
Police say the father of the child, Umar Ibrahim, reported at the Numan Police Station on March 2nd, 2026, that his son, Ramadan, had gone out to play the previous day but did not return home.
According to the report, the family initially searched for the child but could not find him.
Days later, the father received a phone call from an unknown person who claimed the boy had been kidnapped and demanded a ransom of eight hundred thousand naira.
Following investigations by operatives attached to the Numan Division, two suspects identified as 19-year-old Sadiq Ali and 23-year-old Shitu Umar, both residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area, were arrested.
Police say the suspects confessed to committing the crime during interrogation.
The Adamawa State Police Command says its Anti-Kidnapping Unit has now taken over the case for further investigation.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, says the command remains committed to protecting lives and property and urged residents to report suspicious activities to security agencies.

It is unbelievable that under our very eyes, the menace of kidnapping is grinding life, itself, to a halt, in this country. I do not think the usually, peace-living Nigerians, deserve this. This monster must be halted in its tracks by those who initiated it—some political figures, who started this nonsense, initially, to arm-twist their opponents into submission. It is their responsibility. Now, the Frankenstein monster threatens to consume us all, including those who funded this nefarious industry, from its very beginnings.
